Sharing with you a recipe that will definitely be a hit in your family’s table. Best for pulutan and on days you wanted a quick yet savory meal or even when you have an unexpected guests and you don’t know what to serve them asap.
This SISIG TOKWA (TOFU) recipe won’t strain a pocket and much of your precious time.
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 block firm tofu (tokwa) about 600-650g, cubed (typically found in local market are way cheaper)
• 2 cups cooking oil for frying
• 1 medium white onion,sliced
• 1 small bell pepper, sliced
• 2 pcs finger chili pepper
• 2 pcs bird’e eye chili
• spring onion/scallion (opt)
• 1 Tbs margarine/butter
• 1 tsp sugar
SAUCE:
• 1/3 – 1/2 cup mayonnaise
*note: always taste your base ingredients- some brand tend to be saltier or sweeter so adjust accordingly)
• 1.5 Tbs kalamansi juice about 6 to 7pcs/ lemon is a good alternative too
• 1 Tbs liquid seasoning/ soy sauce
• 1.5 Tbs oyster sauce (kitchen staple!)
• 1/4 tsp salt, adjust to your liking (leave out if your base mayo is salty)
*Serve very hot if you have a sizzling plate for a great sizzling experience!😉
