RECIPE:
CRISPY MUSHROOMS
10oz. package of white or baby bella mushrooms
1/2c brown mustard
1.5c panko breadcrumbs
1 tsp garlic powder*
1/2tsp salt*
1/4 tsp black pepper*
1/2 tsp flour
Wipe dirt off mushrooms with damp paper towel.
Cut mushrooms in half or in thirds if they are very big.
Dust mushrooms with flour and tap off excess.
Add garlic, salt and pepper to breadcrumbs and combine. *If you are using seasoned breadcrumbs, no additional seasonings are necessary.
Dip each mushroom in mustard then into breadcrumbs to coat.
Arrange in air fryer basket or parchment lined cookie sheet in a single layer.
Air fry for 7 minutes on 400 degrees. Flip them over and cook additional 8 minutes or until golden brown. If using an oven, cooking time will be 20 minutes or more at 400 degrees. Check after 15 minutes and flip and continue baking until golden brown.
Salt lightly as soon as they come out of the oven or fryer.
Serve with barbecue sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
